  Q) Is there any interruption of service to my site during the transfer?

A) Generally no because Name Server information (DNS) is transferred between registrars.

Q) What does it mean to transfer registrars?
A) If you already own a domain, you registered it using a domain name registrar. By using our Transfer Registrar tool, you are simply transferring your domain from the registrar you originally registered with and making 0-domain-name-registration-stuff the registrar of record. (Please note, there is a 60-day transfer hold - which means you have to wait two months from the initial registration before you can transfer your domain.)

I want to transfer from my current Registrar to your company?

Once you let us know the domain name to transfer and pay the transfer fee, we will initiate the transfer process, which will send an email to the current admin contact as listed in the WHOIS. You need to approve the transfer. In the next 24-48 hours, you may receive another email from your current registrar asking you to approve the transfer. Some registrars just notify you about the transfer and do not need your approval. It may take about a week for the actual transfer to take place. When you transfer a domain, it is automatically renewed by 1 year. Note that, you will not be able to transfer a domain up to 60 days from the date of registration. Similarly, if you transfer the domain within 45 days after renewing it, your current renewal is cancelled and you will get only 1 year of renewal that you normally get from us. If you transfer after 45 days of the renewal, you will retain that renewal that you have done and you get 1 year renewal from us as usual.

IMP: Your domain should be in active state when a transfer needs to be initiated.

You have to go to our Domain Transfer control panel, you need to put in the Authorization Code (Secret Code), which is existing with your current provider, and your domain should also be in unlocked status.

Once your transfer request has been received, a confirmation eMail is sent to the administrative contacts to confirm the request to transfer the registrar to us.

If you do not have access to either the administrative or billing eMail addresses, please contact your current registrar for information on changing your eMail address before initiating a registrar transfer request. Please note, if only one of the contacts confirms the transfer request, it will still be processed. However, a five-day waiting period is given so the remaining contact can reply. This signals our system to send the transfer request to the registry immediately. The request will not be processed if either the administrative or billing contacts denies the transfer.

The next steps:

- Once the request has been confirmed, we process the transfer request by contacting the registry automatically

- The registry then notifies your current registrar of the transfer request

- The current registrar is given 5 days in which to grant or deny the transfer request

- If no response is received within the 5-day period, the transfer request is granted

- The transfer process takes five to 10 working days to be completed

- Once your domain is successfully transferred, we send you notification by email
